Made with the same hypoallergenic stainless steel and point design, the QUADS have the same weight and yarn glide as the round TWIST tips. Some test knitters stated that their stitch definition was more uniform, and all were pleasantly surprised to find their gauge to be the same as when knitting with the same size round tips. ChiaoGoo purposefully calibrated the QUADS to do this! Unlike other square-shaped needles, there is no need to “size up” to get the right gauge.
Test knitters found the square shape to be more comfortable to hold than round needles due to the flat sides with rounded corners. Many stated they encountered less hand, wrist, finger, and even shoulder strain because their grip felt more secure and thus they were able to be more relaxed. Even tightening and loosening the connection is easier because of the flat sides.
